Flickr Friday / Using What You Have

In the photo above: what did the photographer do right?
• They got down on the ground at doggy level
• They utilized the pup’s crate for visual interest
• They captured a mood

• Again, they utilized what they had … good natural lighting and an interesting fabric throw on the sofa, and yes a piece of ice, talk about free props.
• They got right in front of this pup, getting really close so that the Boston is the largest thing in the frame

In the photo above: what did the photographer do right?

• The natural lighting here is very good.

What could they have done better?

• They could have gotten in close on ground level like in the other shots. The couch, and crate are not that exciting this time around. Still, a great memory, and an adorable pup. Each and every photograph we shoot does not have to be portrait quality in life, especially since we can shoot and shoot and shoot with our digital cameras. These 3 shots are a lot  of fun and really demonstrate the difference between a fast and fun snapshot and photographs that really stand out.
