The more you shoot the better you will be. Practice makes perfect, right?! It does. The more you shoot the more you will learn your camera and its functions and limitations. You will also see light in a different way as light is what gives the image it’s shape and form. Photography is painting with light after all.
I recommend photographing not just familiar subject like your animals but other people’s pets as well. Then hopefully you see how well your babies listen to you, or not. I love going to the dog park with my dog and camera in tow. Most dog owners love having pictures taken of their pups. It can be a challenge. There are days when I come back to the studio with no stellar images but I always learn something.
If you aren’t a dog park person then check out pet friendly events and pooch parades. Always tons of fun. Below is a list of some of the dog parks in DFW and a couple of events happening soon. If you know of any events I’ve missed please let us know. BTW the White Rock dog park is where you’ll generally find me.
